About Me

Hi I’m Alice, a Fashion Branding and Communications graduate from AUB.

I am a creative with skills in branding, content creation and creative direction. My work celebrates bright visuals exploring themes around mental wellbeing to uplift the audience.

I believe in making content that will have a benefit to people. This ethos is the key to my design approach. I think the focus on ‘beauty’ that has dominated the fashion industry for years should be reframed into valuing the person and the message behind it rather than simply being an aesthetic. My work aims to aid mental wellbeing through thoughtful image-making, bold graphics and colours, and working physically with a focus on tactility.

INSPIRATION

My inspiration focuses on solutions to mental health.

Orange Peel’s curated content is used to change narratives surrounding fashion and mental health. By creating a positive experience of art and fashion, the publication combats negative emotions and anxieties commonly associated with much contemporary fashion media as people compare themselves to what they see.

Mental health is a huge concern in young people. Orange Peel is a reliable place where people can take time out for themselves and share a smile, relieving the pressures that young people struggle with. The publication provides people with a positive experience in their day that leaves an impact, making people think more positively in the long run benefiting mental wellness.

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Orange Peel is a publication with one goal... to put a smile on the readers face.

Orange Peel is designed to provide a sense of joy through positive content. Issue 1 is an accumulation of a variety of artistic forms, including photography, illustration, painting, screen prints, poems, and interviews. These transform the publication into a collectable work of art that provides the reader with an uplifting experience. Orange Peel’s target consumers are young people ages 16-30 of all genders. Mental health is one of their top priorities and they have concerns about screen time. Orange Peel thrives on the physicality of the publication providing an alternative to digital consumption that benefits mental wellbeing. The reading of the publication is a tactile experience including thermochromic ink that changes colour as you touch it, a painting designed to satisfyingly touch, and textured papers.
