About Me

Hi, I'm Charlotte, Fashion Branding & Comms Graduate from AUB

Charlotte Hares is a creative who specialises in art direction, styling, content creation and publication. Her work celebrates conjoining and contrasting styles, themes, and ideas to create personal connections among the work and the viewer.

My recent project, Blended is an augmented reality publication brand that celebrates convergence, creative evolutions, combinations, and flavours. Each biannual magazine issue is explosive, innovative, bright, and colourful with a new fusion theme. To create something new and exciting, two opposing things need to combine.

INSPIRATION

How the publication industry has the power to make multiracial identity development easier

Inspiration for Blended stemmed from my person experience with identity confusion after discovering my quarter Indian heritage. Developing your identity as a multiracial individual is challenging but this is increased by external societal pressures. As multiracial identity development is often influenced by visual representation, the publication industry can help.

I wanted to bring this topic into conversation within my project. Multicultural areas celebrate diverse cultures through food and approaches to thinking; these environments create future trends. Blended is committed to showcasing multiracial individuals in ways that celebrate rather than hinder their identities.
