Hi, I'm Aneela, a Fashion Photography graduate
I am a visual artist heavily interested in anti-fashion, the creation of characters and the eccentric that finds solace in the unconventional.
Through editorial-based imagery I explore themes of sexuality and gender fluidity, utilising humour and the mundane in which, challenges conventional narratives.
INSPIRATION
The grotesque, flash photography and eccentric fashion.
An interesting point that I read in the book, 'Not a Toy', was the idea that those of us who strive to create stories about the ‘plasmata’ are almost ‘re-fabricating’ versions of ourselves that we have hidden or do not often express. Through this I was inspired by the creation of characters and eccentric expression through bold styling and makeup.

Throughout this project I use experimental compositions, experimenting with over-exposed imagery and eccentric fashion influenced from punk. I utilise glamour and the grotesque through unique styling and shooting in rubbish locations that you wouldn't usually bat an eyelid to. I aim to create work that is inclusive of the gender neutral body and queer culture.
