I am an adaptable photographer, specialising in both digital and analogue photography, depending on what I feel would best translate in the project. The visual inspirations for my image-making come from art, culture and history and I further expand on these visuals by contextualising the narrative through people and their stories.
As a Creative Director, I communicate my ideas through styling and set design, using these as equally important elements to create the image and tell the narrative.
INSPIRATION
In my on-going project, Forward into the Past, the idea is to merge the influences from fashion of the past with contemporary shapes to represent the forward thinking nature of fashion. I intend to have the viewer feeling reminiscent and recognise elements of the styling and image, while simultaneously observing a new idea or concept within the same look.
I am an innovative person who will adapt and create what is necessary to get the image that I am after. The accessories that are used in this project are all imagined and created by myself. Another theme I am inspired by is the relationship between the body and clothing in fashion image. I brought this into my project through the styling by extending and changing the overall silhouette of the model’s body by exaggerating certain parts.
