Elizabeth Oluwa is a black African woman who specialises in Textile design. Her research is based on herself, what she likes and enjoys and has a connection with her African culture Nigeria.
After three years of studying textile design, it made me want to learn and understand more about myself. I chose to do my concept about myself because there are quite a few things that I like and find interesting that I want to explore in a creative and textural way. Doing this allows me to be the best version of myself. I first started by making a mind map of myself with all the things I am interested in and what I like. I narrowed it down so I could have a proper meaning for my concept and decided to look into the fabric my culture wears which is called "Ankara".
INSPIRATION
I am inspired by the fabric Ankara that is traditionally worn in Africa because of how vibrant and detailed the print is. It just makes you stand out in a crowd of people and is beautiful at traditional weddings and special events.
