I am a multi-disciplinary designer, with passions across physical and digital creation. My phygital graduate collection shows this from start to finish, as I used hands-on textiles to make my digital work feel more sumptuous and elevated, and used digital toiling to make a more sustainable and economical process.
Core values to my graduate collection were improving body diversity within menswear and breaking down gender norms. I am honoured to have been shortlisted for the GFW Fashion Innovation and Inclusive Fashion awards, as well as winning the Digital Fashion 2024 Award for my explorations in utilising digital alongside physical creation to make a more inclusive and sustainable process.
INSPIRATION
There is such a mass of creation and consumption in the fashion industry that I wanted to make a collection that was authentic to my values and responded to a gap in the market, or multiple.
Floral Masculinity responds to the lack of body inclusion in menswear with contemporary pattern cutting and considered textiles that combine a feminine energy with the classic fit and functionality of menswear.
DETAIL
The textiles of Floral Masculinity have a key DNA of imperfection, as in order to push boundaries and make change you have to step out of the comfort zone of normal.
