Erin Fairall is a creative specialising in Children's and Women's knitwear. Committed to creating clothing with sustainable and ethical production in mind, sharing knowledge onto consumers and the new generation of change-makers, educating and encouraging both parents and children to shop mindfully and sustainably, helping to care for our planet.
My love of knitting has continued to grow through exploring the craft and studying knitwear design at university. This has fed my love of knitting and widened my knowledge of just how versatile knitwear is, from tangible textures and organic shapes to technical, detailed structures, the possibilities are endless! Having seen the amount of mass production and waste our industry creates, I knew I wanted to design with a difference - rejecting wasteful and pollutive fast-fashion, focusing on hand-craftsmanship and sustainable materials.
INSPIRATION
This collection draws upon the memories I have as a child, learning to knit and sew from my mum. Exploring how the craft of knitting has been taught through generations, as a means of livelihood and industry, as well as an expression of love; hand-crafting clothes to be cherished and sharing this skill with generations to come.

DETAIL
Exploring the brocade patterns in my sourced fabrics and vintage garments, I enjoyed experimenting with how these shapes can be fragmented and distressed and frayed, being placed onto deadstock fabrics. These patterns created an interesting contrast to the check patterns in my machineine knits, joining these two with hand-embroidered flower details.
