About Me
I'm Georgina, a knitted textiles designer based in South Wales.
Georgina's final product is inspired by historical Welsh textiles . A story culminating in a series of hand knitting patterns, inspired by iconic motifs and patterns associated with Wales.
As the Welsh independence movement grows there is much reflection on the past and the true weight of what has been lost over time. Iconic symbols and motifs associated with Wales and Welsh textiles have been incorporated into this collection of hand knitting patterns.

This year has been building towards this collection of hand knitting patterns, with accompanying samples. This collection of patterns has drawn visual inspiration from aspects of Welsh history and culture, from the traditional motifs of the Welsh blankets to the Welsh costume, a contemporary collection of garments has taken shape.

A foray into spinning yarn.
The yarns used in the development of these hand knitted fabrics have been spun and dyed by hand, allowing complete control over the production process. The raw wool was sourced from British farms and companies; supporting British sheep farmers is important to me as raising sheep is often an unprofitable business and they have faced great financial hardship over the Covid-19 pandemic.
