As a recent graduate from the Arts University Plymouth, my practice has been slowly informed by new references and points of interest. Styling shoots for the likes of Design Scene and Glamcult has aided my knowledge of industry, allowing me to take a concept or brief from early development stages all the way through to finalised imagery.
In my time as an undergraduate, I have also been lucky enough to assist stylists such as Robbie Spencer, Beat Bolliger and Nathan Henry. Again this gave me great insights into the day to day tasks of a stylist.
INSPIRATION
My practise is underpinned by material research and art-focused narratives. Shape and form are the focus of my visual identity, informed by my interests in architecture and sculpture, and their influence on fashion imagery. These reference points allow me to find new ways of engineering garments, thus pushing the boundaries of visual communication.
Grounded in rigorous enquiry and experimentation, my final major project examines unique ways of styling garments, seeking to explore how clothing can convey a story and how the human body can be used to enhance that narrative.
DETAIL
Aiming to highlight the adaptability of garments. Challenging notions of shape and structure in the realm of styling, and how perhaps inanimate or looked over items can be reinvented to portray a story, an attitude championed by artists such as Erwin Wurm, or Fiscli and Weiss.
