A unisex fashion designer, influenced by streetstyle and sportswear. Creating with sustainability in mind by deconstructing existing garments, thinking about the circular life of the garment and aiming to have as little waste as possible. I hope to work for a brand with a similar ethos and values as I.
My portfolio displays my recent work for my Final Major Project at university. My aim for this project was to create a unisex collection that is functional and purposeful. I wanted to broaden and strengthen my skills with my garments so I worked on my garment construction and my textiles by learning how to knit, dye and print. My skills lie in my research, CAD design and pattern cutting.
INSPIRATION
My concept is for my family. Ever year my family in the north of the Philippines have to endure earthquakes that almost always produce tsunamis, flooding and always destruction. I feel very lucky that I live in England with the way of life I have but also guilty that my family have to live through all of these natural disasters.
With my collection I wanted to be purposeful and create functional protective wear that is sustainable and uses technical fabrics for the most protection for my family and others that are effected by natural disasters.
DETAIL
I took inspiration from protective wear such as life jackets and protective work gear. I used reflective fabric for my 2nd outfit trousers as well as details in the gilet.
