Hey! I'm Lauren a Fashion Textile Graduate specialising in Menswear
A menswear designer who looks to inject playfulness into classic workwear. I often venture into textiles and fashion design mainly focusing on Outerwear, Menswear and Accessories. I take real pleasure in experimenting with new and heavier weight materials, understanding the meaning and intentions behind the fabrics and how they can be applied joyfully.
The fluidity of workwear and its constant relevance within the fashion industry provides a wide space to play with the definition of the word. I intended to add elevation to the everydayness of outerwear clothing with my Work to Play Collection, with multiple opportunities for the wearer to alter and adjust the pieces to their everyday intentions.
INSPIRATION
Inspired by the everydayness of outerwear How material can reflect a workers movements
The everydayness in which objects serve us with purpose and function is the inspiration for this collection. The working person looks to objects to be able operate in their daily lives, the clothing with in this collection reveals the story of the worker, with a wearable palette of deep blue and green paired with red and detailing's of mustard yellow. Using materials that reflect the worn in look with waxed cotton providing texture and durability lined with a sporty airtex lining, designed to protect.
The Transition from Work to Play collection intends to add elevation to the everydayness of outerwear. Includes simpler silhouettes paired with practical pieces, allowing the owner to transition from work to play. Containing both classic workwear and sports material - adding endurance and enjoyment. Designed to be played with, the wearer can adjust the clothing to their personal style merging their everyday clothing with the collections range providing multiple opportunities to adjust fastenings.
