About Me

Hi, I’m Lina, a Fashion and Textiles Design Graduate.

As a designer, I thrive on exploring bold shapes and innovative fabrics to craft unique, market-ready garments that redefine modern fashion.

Growing up as the middle child in a large, multicultural family of 15, I often struggled to find my voice amidst the vibrant mix of personalities. Fashion became my medium for self-expression and a way to be seen. Specialising in women's wear, I channel my experiences and emotions, particularly personal loss and grief, into my designs. By creating abstract silhouettes and manipulating fabrics, I capture the beauty in life’s complexities, crafting wearable art with profound purpose and meaning.

INSPIRATION

Azul (Blue)

Azul (Blue) is a tribute to Spanish culture, childhood memories, and the loss of someone special. This collection explores entangled memories, embracing my Spanish heritage with vibrant colour and bold silhouettes that express warmth and grief. Black symbolises deep sorrow, while aqua blue evokes the peace and joy of the Spanish coastlines, creating a harmonious blend of mourning and beauty.

The pomegranate, or Granada fruit, symbolizes the city of Granada, known for its scenic beauty and cultural richness. This motif inspired the bold, abstract silhouettes throughout Azul. The collection is deeply personal, reflecting my family roots and journey, blending the essence of mourning with the serene beauty of cherished memories. Azul stands as a proud testament to my design evolution and connection to my heritage.

DETAIL

Bougainvillea

Incorporating a print that symbolizes beauty amidst my grief was essential for this collection. I chose the vibrant Bougainvillea, pink flowers that thrive in Granada, Spain, my cherished home away from home. Their bold pink blooms on deep blue fabric reflect the resilience and grace I seek to capture in my designs.

“If I didn’t make mistakes, I’d never learn. You can only go forward by making mistakes.” - Alexander McQueen
