Lizzie Lenthall, an EIZO student awards finalist, has recently graduated at Leeds Arts University after studying Fashion Photography. She has photographed at London Fashion Week 2022, 2023 & 2024, and her work has featured in magazines such as Noctis, MALVIE, Oculate & This Is Gen Z.
For a long period of time, I have had a great eagerness for art & photography. My photographic practise varies from taking photographs of artists - such as Jacob Collier, Lord Apex, B-ahwe & Nix Northwest - whilst also producing photographs at events and experimenting with fashion, portraiture and surrealism. In recent months, I have also enjoyed producing short films which can educate people on niche topics; an example of this is my film 'Secluded' which explores how the lack of diversity within male models can affect their body image and wellbeing.
INSPIRATION
At the start of this year, I produced a short documentary film titled ‘Secluded’, which featured four diverse individuals sharing their stories as male and non-binary models in the current society we live in. I wanted to produce a documentary based on how the lack of diversity within male models can affect their mental health and body image, as this is a niche topic. My short documentary film, 'Secluded', was originally inspired by Matheson and Jeffrie's short film 'What does it mean to be a man?'

DETAIL
My art is original and innovative as I produce films and concepts which have not yet been discussed in a lot of detail in society, such as this documentary discussing men’s mental health and body image. This topic is not discussed enough, and it is unique as it comes from a female’s perspective. I am using photography and videography to educate people about niche and important topics. As well as this, I have a unique art style as this documentary has a personal feel, which differs from most usual documentaries which feel slightly more formal.
