I am a fashion design graduate specializing in menswear knitwear, with a passion for innovative techniques. Driven by a desire to challenge exclusivity and promote inclusivity, my designs cater to diverse audiences and resonate beyond the catwalk, finding relevance in urban streets by blending heritage aesthetics with contemporary streetwear energy.
My current project, "From Elite to Street," reimagines traditional golf wear by merging the refined elegance of 1920s golf fashion with the dynamic vibrancy of modern streetwear. Inspired by the elitism within the sport, this collection aims to break down barriers in golf fashion, creating a more inclusive and accessible aesthetic that speaks to today’s diverse and fashion-forward audience.
INSPIRATION
Inspired by the desire to disrupt traditional sportswear, I combine classic argyle patterns with urban street style elements, such as puffer jackets, to make a bold statement. Golf is often seen as an exclusive sport, not something you typically find in your neighborhood. My designs represent youth and inner-city style, challenging the conventional image of golf and making it more relatable and exciting for a new generation.
My inspiration image is a collage from my sketchbook, capturing the essence of New York City's urban landscape alongside a striking visual from a vintage golf book. The central image features a man poised to hit a golf ball from the roof of a twenty-six-story building, with a young woman named Peg placing her trust—and perhaps her future—in his driving skills. Blending golf's refined elegance with street-style energy, my collection juxtaposes urban grit with classic golf aesthetics.
DETAIL
Inspired by this project, I upcycled my grandad's old golf shirts with vibrant vintage pieces. Reimagined Threads explores sustainability, gender fluidity, and contemporary fashion innovation. By breathing new life into forgotten garments, this project embraces inclusivity and creativity. Juxtaposing old and new, it pairs vintage textiles with bright hues, showcasing the transformative power of sustainable fashion. Artisanal techniques like darning add a bespoke touch, reflecting a commitment to craftsmanship and innovation that redefines traditional design boundaries.
