I'm a menswear designer specializing in sportswear and technical clothing. Prior to my design studies at Kingston University I studied Fashion Styling and worked as a Visual Merchandiser manager, skills that have allowed me to approach my design practice from different angles.
I am interested in the relationship between queer identities and sportswear, having had the chance to explore with this collection concepts like Masculinity, Sexuality, and Sport. The aim of my graduate collection is to push the boundaries of traditional masculinity in sports. I have taken inspiration from artists like Wolfgang Tillmans, Slava Mogutin, Peter de Potter, and Ian David Baker. They all have in common the tender and homoerotic way in which they portray men. I have looked at football culture because it is one of the sports where there is more to do in terms of inclusivity.
INSPIRATION
The inspiration behind my collection is men's locker rooms. It is one of the first places where I understood my own sexuality. I have always experienced mixed emotions every time I walked into one. I couldn't help but feel attracted to the display of strength, the bodies, and the heat. At the same time, there was the fear of my friends finding out that I was different. This collection is my way to make peace with it and reconquer that space.

DETAIL
Following on the idea of sexuality and sport, I have explored a series of printed mesh designs that reflect on the idea of undressing.I took photographs of clothes on the floor and then manipulate them and play with the scale on the body. With this series of prints I aim to highlight the homoeroticism behind sportswear clothing.
