Sustainability is crucial throughout my designs, with specialisation in upcycling of all kinds of materials as a way of reducing waste. Much of my inspiration comes from nature and human interaction with it.
‘Lavoura’ is the latest collection, inspired by old Portuguese socioeconomical traditions. It intends to explore economical activities from the recent past when reusable materials were very much in key to traditional communities, mostly due to the lack of resources available.
INSPIRATION
The shapes and colours of my latest collection are inspired by winemaking traditions in Douro Valley and fishing throughout the vast Portuguese coast, as well as labour in agricultural fields which played a major role in the Portuguese economy in previous generations.

DETAIL
Patchwork is a very efficient way of using small pieces of fabric that would end up as waste for embellishment. Combined with embroidery, this translates in an elevated design feature.
