I have always enjoyed experimenting with fashion and being in front of the camera. While doing my bachelors in Fashion, I developed interest in various aspects around fashion design. I have enhanced my understanding in print development, conceptual art, textile experimentation, cultural art, organic dyeing and conceptual styling.
Exploring my forgotten self through art.
INSPIRATION
The inspiration for the concept comes from my heritage. I've grown up in Mumbai city around diverse cultures and traditions. This concept comes from the desire to express my individuality through designing. Taking inspiration from the city I have grown up in, memories lived, cultural practices, togetherness, parents in 90s, traditional attire, experiences and preferences. During my last visit to Mumbai, I captures the city views of busy streets and warm vibes the city gives.
Growing up, I have found comfort in Contemporary sportswear, which gave rise to the merge of street-style and culture in this concept. The lively energy is what I aim to be reflected in my designs. Expressing my individuality also inspired me to title this concept, "Mudraa: Embracing individuality". Mudras are a form of expression which holds deep symbolic meanings and power. They are used in various form like rituals, iconography, mediation, dance, religion and spirituality.
