About Me

Hi, I'm Natalia a fashion graduate from University of Portsmouth.

Natalia has crafted a fully upcycled collection that seamlessly blends the rich heritage of 'Young Poland', a pre-war art movement with contemporary fashion elements. In her creative exploration, she incorporated laser cutting and flocking techniques, pushing the boundaries of her designs.

Passionate about sustainable fashion, I have dedicated myself to crafting a collection that embodies my values. Utilizing upcycled fabrics and minimizing waste, I strive to make a positive impact on the fashion industry. With a strong belief in the importance of reducing waste, I am determined to lead by example and inspire others. Furthermore, my love for my country and deep pride in my heritage have motivated me to create something that showcases my roots. Through my work, I hope to not only make a significant change but also ignite a sense of cultural appreciation and national pride.

INSPIRATION

A collection that is inspired by traditional Polish folk wear and crafts with a modern twist.

This fully upcycled women’s collection draws inspiration from the ‘Young Poland’ book that presents a pre-war art movement that embraced an unprecedented flourishing of applied arts and the revival of crafts, drawing inspiration from nature, history, peasant traditions, and craftsmanship to convey patriotic values. It aims to convey a powerful message about ‘Cultural Sustainability’ that embodies the practices and wisdom passed down through generations, rooted in a deep respect for the environment.

Full of volume silhouettes and carefully selected fabrics pay homage to the traditional Polish folk wear, while the textiles take inspiration from the rich tapestry of traditional handcraft included in the book ‘Young Poland’. Influenced by upcycling I made my collection fully sustainable by using only fabrics from donations. By blending heritage and sustainability, my collection seeks to celebrate the past while paving the way for a more conscious and meaningful future.

DETAIL

My fully upcycled fashion collection showcases intricate laser-cutting details and flocking accents.

My fashion collection is a testament to sustainable practices, as it is fully upcycled with minimal fabric waste. Intricate laser cutting details and rich burgundy flocking adorn these unique garments. The first outfit comprises blouse and trousers. The blouse is crafted from white satin fabric, featuring elegant puff sleeves and an extended French cuff with fabric-covered buttons that perfectly complement the trousers. The trousers themselves boast laser-cut godet inserts, strategically placed to add volume, and create a captivating silhouette. Moving on to the second outfit, it features a bodycon laser-cut dress paired with a cape. The cape steals the spotlight with an exaggerated laser-cut collar that commands attention, enhanced further by the luxurious flocking. These details not only add depth and texture but also emphasize the artistry and innovation behind the collection.
