I am a lover of all things colourful. Specialising in Textiles and Print design, my passion for knit, print and embroidery has come to life. Always returning to Abstract Expressionism to lead any new project, I am confident in transpiring positivity through bold use of individual prints and colour use.
While studying Fashion Design and Marketing for the past 4 years I am proud to have developed my own original identity and style. In the marketing side of my degree, I researced 'colours relationship in fashion and consumerism', I created my Brand, Juniper, with extensive knowledge on the effects colours can have on people's emotions. I have claimed the title of being 'pink crazy' and don't intend on losing it anytime soon.
INSPIRATION
After dealing with the disastrous effects Covid had on mine and the rest of the worlds mental health, it was important to me to create a brand that transpired positivity and supported a happier mindset while indulging in my love for art and colour. I experimented in the print room for months trying different screens to create my iconic patterns, to find hand painting each layer was the only way I could achieve perfect print.
I expanded my skills in other areas of design by developing an accessories range within my brand, creating a jewellery and handbag line amongst my 'Happy Days' collection, helped to demonstrate everything Juniper stands for- craftsmanship, quality and colour. The meticulous and slow work that goes into creating each piece summarizes my brand ideologies perfectly. Overall Juniper is a brand that celebrates self expression, the ability to stand out in a crowd and be proud to wear the colours of the rainbow.
DETAIL
I created the bag over a long period of time, countless hours spent embroidering in front of the TV all paid off when it all came together. The lining is indirect screen printed on dutchess satin finished with a gold zip. The bag involves 1289 beads and sequins all attached using clear thread, layered on top of each other to become 3D and more enticing to look at. Creating the bag helped me identify what Juniper is really about, how slow meticulous work always results in the highest quality end product- which our consumers can wear with pride.
