About Me

Hi, I’m Mitha, A graduate from Bunka Fashion College

I like to observe my surroundings and translate them into my work. Humans, culture, and interaction fascinates me. The combination of my background in graphic and fashion design helps me to be playful and experimental.

I believe fashion has power as a communication tool. As someone who is quite shy on first encounters, observing and asking what people like helps a lot. From a person’s T-shirt graphics, or their shoes. Maybe their keychains or interesting points on their accessories. People can talk for ages about something they love, and feel joy with people who share the same passion. Fashion has magic in catering that energy, and I hope you can feel it too from this collection.

INSPIRATION

Children's Heart

Lived with difficulties to make friends, at last I found a place to call home from the photography community in Tokyo. From that moment onwards, I realized that interests and hobbies save souls more than anyone could imagine. It saves lives, It keeps people sane.

A child-like curiosity, that euphoria when you do something you love or immerse in what excites you. I believe this feeling is what unites us in this individualistic society. When was the last time we asked one another what do you like? Can you tell me about yourself? Thus, this collection translates topics into something that can be worn. With these creations, I hope to connect people and maybe spark a little conversation. Who knows, maybe it will lead to something life changing.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Explorations of everyday objects

Since the theme is about curiosity and exploration, each look has their own unique techniques whether it is in material, garment, or prints. Everyday objects are used as catch phrases, and introduced as something that may be different from what is usually used . Sashiko, or mushroom fabric, bottle caps, wine corks, buttons in the shape of a zipper, coffee sack (real, or in print) with some phrases from my hometown (Indonesia)’s old school coffee package. Pants with lapelle shaped pockets, and a sweater with films dangling from the sleeves. A pair of pants was dyed with wine, and the other was bleached to create an illustration. These show how endless exploration can be, and sometimes the answer lies beyond the studio door and fashion industry itself.

I knew I had been transformed, Moved by the revelation that human beings created art, that to be an artist was to see what others could not -Just Kids, Patti Smith
