I am a beauty and fashion photographer based in the UK and in Portugal. My biggest passion is capturing the beauty in people through fashion imagery, showing their expressions and emotions. In my practice, I also want to express my own values, such as sustainability and my appreciation for nature.
Whilst at university I have been able to develop new technical skills and most of all learn how to better communicate with other professionals in the fashion industry, to ensure that I create and maintain a relationship. Although the industry is quite competitive, we have to remember that it is extremely important to have a team who you can rely on, who will support you, challenge you and strive to achieve the goal.
INSPIRATION
This body of work showcases four separate beauty editorials highlighting each model’s unique features. I chose these models because they are often turned away in the fashion industry for their natural looks, which go against the beauty ideals set by the fashion industry. Inspired by makeup as a form of self-expression, I wanted to capture Beauty images to push the boundaries of the fashion industry. For my Final Major Project, I took this opportunity to showcase my own values and views on beauty.
I decided to explore different studio lighting techniques, camera techniques and creative makeup looks to enhance the model's unique features. The aim I had for this project was to inspire people through my photography, but mainly to help them face their own insecurities regarding their bodies.
DETAIL
Working collaboratively with brands who also share the same values about sustainability is very important to me. I strongly agree that fashion is for everyone to enjoy, to show your creativity and inspire others, but still maintaining an awareness and consideration to the environment.
