About Me

Hi, I'm Rebecca, a fashion and textile designer graduated from NABA

I am a young designer and, thanks to my studies, I got passionate about Fashion History from the ancient times to the contemporary age, understanding the great importance for a collection development.

I am fascinated by historical heritages where the brand’s soul lives. I love vintage since when it was called just “second hand” and I use it as a uniqueness tool. I believe in sustainable projects and ethical fashion as a never ending commitment. In fact for my own projects I always prefer upcycling culture and handmade philosophy.

INSPIRATION

I visualized my experience with eating disorders.

What lasts when there is no color anymore? When you have no future and your youngness gets eaten fast by a as sneaky as well known monster: eating disorders. Coraline is, then, not just a capsule, but also the personification of path written backwords, once it’s understood.

Coraline covers her thin body with heavy coats like she’d safe her vital space. There is still a hope. It’s a red glimpse that sometimes jumps out from the black, where every lights disappears. This capsule is in fact made by heavy capes that protects the body from the outside world. The very same one is let bare naked in front of other people and ourselves thanks to light garments as oversize pants and long crochet dresses. All materials are deadstock or saved from damaged grading

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

I drew and realized the deepest part of me

This capsule worked for me as a catharsis. I pulled out from my soul what was left behind some time ago. There are bubbles that crawls outside the garments as this kind of illnesses do: they eat you slowly but in a never ending process. You in fact get caught without even realizing it in this mental mess represented by the tricot threads that cage the bodies.

Art is my condition of existence
