About Me
Hi, I'm Richao, a Fashion Design graduate from the University Of Leeds
Fuelled by my love for streetwear, functionality, and tailoring, my creations often reflect a seamless fusion of style and purpose. My inspiration often stems from the rich tapestry of my surroundings, drawing heavily from my Seychellois and Chinese heritage, as well as other vibrant cultures that surrounds me.
Through my designs, I aim to promote sustainability, ethical practices, and a celebration of local craftsmanship. I believe in pushing boundaries, I'm always seeking new avenues of creativity. I love experimenting with innovative fabrics, playing with textures, and exploring unconventional silhouettes. In doing so, I aim to bring fresh perspectives to the world of men's fashion, sparking conversations and inspiring others to embrace their individuality.
INSPIRATION
Take a trip to Seychelles
The first two collections are inspired by my home, the gorgeous Seychelles islands. The first section of the portfolio introduces a Spring/Summer 2024 Dior Men collection, inspired by one of Seychelles’ most prominent artists - Tristan Adams. This collection celebrates the beauty of the archipelago, particularly its world-famous picturesque scenery.
This is followed by part 2 of the portfolio, which features an Autumn/Winter 2023 collection for A Cold Wall which takes inspiration from the urban decay on Mahé island. This reveals the raw, unedited form of Seychelles. Hence, providing the viewers with a 360-degree perspective of my home, a window through which they can peer into island culture through fashion.

Collection 3 focuses on a sportswear line dedicated to Adidas. Drawing inspiration from micro-scale technology, particularly the motherboard, it resonates with Adidas's cutting-edge designs and customer base. The collection embraces the colourful circuit board aesthetics, allowing for creative opportunities with prints, graphics, and vibrant colors. It symbolizes power, speed, and advancement, reflecting the ethos of Adidas.
