About Me

Hi, I'm Ruby. A fashion photography graduate.

I am a photographer with a passion for beauty and fashion. I have worked with commercial clients and brands along with editorial work for publications. I have created personal work about topics that are important to me.

Recently my work has centred around age. Whilst studying I thought about who I am not seeing in the industry and wanted to photograph who is underrepresented. Diversity and inclusivity are important topics I focus on in every shoot and always consider casting choices.

INSPIRATION

For my most recent project I have been inspired by older women and giving them visibility.

I have been inspired by the work of Sirli Raitma. EHA is a series of ‘portraits of my mother’. The images put her mother in unusual situations and often seem unsettling. The images have a cinematic feel with often nothing else happening in the images apart from the model posing.

I thought about the concept of "how not to dress your age" and had my models wearing youthful clothes. I had them wearing Juicy Couture, metallics and bold prints, focusing on current trends.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

I used bold prints and current trends to visually communicate my message.

I have used bright bold colours to show the models in an uplifting way. This project is editorial with a more personal, conceptual approach.

My final project aims to elevate women of all ages by capturing their essence in authentic, often unposed, and unguarded photographs giving them the visibility and respect they deserve.
