My degree has provided me with a clear understanding of the fashion design process beginning from research to development, design, and construction. In particular our core modules Design Development and Garment Technology where we are constantly reminded of the key elements of professional practice and industry standards.
My design experience also includes a 5-month placement with the luxury womenswear brand Eudon Choi as a Womenswear Product Development intern and an 8-month Menswear Design internship at French Connection. On completion of both placements, I have developed a keen understanding of the fashion industry and have gained a variety of skillsets that will aid my future career in the industry.
INSPIRATION
This Seasonless collection by Alexander McQueen will explore the timeless beauty of arts and cultures from the Ming Dynasty. Taking inspiration from the way clothing was worn, prints were used across art forms and the shapely silhouette of the porcelain vases, this collection hopes to break the barriers of the 4 seasonal rotations of the fashion calendar and create an all purposeful collection that can be worn throughout the changing seasons.
My second collection for Vivienne Westwood attempts to embody their signature punk rock personality, while welcoming you into the World of 'Night Fantasy' for PRE-FALL 23. Inspired by the Circus and the ’Clown’ itself, I hope to create An androgynous Ready to wear collection that is reminiscent of both untameable attitudes, in particularly using vivienne westwood‘s love of tartan, Argyle and checks in conjunction with this collection specific print developments.
