Hello, my name is Yumeng Xie and I come from China. Welcome.
I am a small design student from a vast universe, and I am very happy to meet you here.
Students studying clothing and apparel design at Donghua University.
INSPIRATION
Cosmic Traveler
My inspiration comes from the movie "Interstellar". It tells the story of a few people who venture to find other habitable planets in the universe for the survival of mankind when the earth cannot survive. The adventurous spirit also profoundly conveys that no matter where you are in the universe, no matter what node you are in time and space, the bonds, love, affection, and love between people are closely connected and will never disappear. So I focused on the two keywords of adventure and love.
The abstract love and emotion are embodied into a package state. The entire large frame hides people inside like a tent. The inside is made of cotton, which is relatively neat and soft with a sense of air and expansion. It seems to be able to bounce back all dangers and make it ethereal. Build a shelter for adventurers in the universe. The earth is the cradle of mankind. After leaving this cradle, we need to find ways to rebuild the cradle to protect ourselves and adventurers.

Interactive wearable device
My series of designs are more like installation art than clothes, and they are interactive installations. I made the various tubes, backpacks, and decorations on the clothes detachable or functional. The audience can remove the backpack and buckle it to other parts of the costume, or put their hands into big gloves for imagination gesture. I thought a touchable and interactive piece would be more interesting, so I did that.
